Flygare, Roger

Roger is the President and CEO of Flygare & Associates, Inc., a professional legal services corporation focusing on supplying legal support services to government and private entities.  Those services include court reporters, legal videography, legal transcription, notary public functions, and process service.

He has served on Department of Licensing committees, primarily the Court Reporter Advisory Board, as well as serving as advisor to educational programs at Green River Community College, Auburn, Washington , The Bates Vocational Technical Institute, Tacoma, Washington.

Roger has been affiliated with the Washington Generals since 1994.  He has held various positions within the association and is currently Deputy Commanding General and also provides guidance for the association's website.

Roger has two degrees, one in business management and the other a specialized degree in court reporting.  He served his country in the US Army Aviation during the Vietnam conflict receiving a number of awards and medals for his participation.

He also serves as a board member of the Washington Court Reporters Association, having served as Area 1 Director (King County) and vice president and president elect.  He is a member in good standing with the National Court Reporters Association, the Freelance Shorthand Reporters Association of Washington, and the Washington Court Reporters Association.

Hardaway, Chuck

Chuck Hardaway and his wife of 53 years have lived in Maple Valley, Washington for 30 years. He is the immediate past commander of the Association of Washington Generals. Chuck served on the Tahoma School Board over ten years, the Greater Maple Valley Area Council for seven years, and the Maple Valley City Council for two years. He was chairman of the Seattle-King County Private Industry Council and on the board of directors of the Kent Business Development Center. In 1990, Chuck was Maple Valley’s Citizen of the Year at Large. 

            Chuck holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from George Washington University and is a retired USAF officer, flying over 100 combat missions in Vietnam. He has received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Air Medals, the Meritorious Service Medal, three Air Force Commendation Medals, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. 

            He has been a co-owner of a real estate company and a computer company, both based in Kent, Washington, and was chief of staff of the Washington State Democratic Caucus. For the past 10 years, Chuck has written a weekly “One man’s opinion” column for the Voice of the Valley newspaper. 

            The Hardaways have one son, John, who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a commander in the U.S. Navy. John is an ophthalmologist and chairman of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff and is currently stationed at the Naval Hospital Bremerton.

Jonas, Victoria

Victoria Laise Jonas has dedicated her adult life to public service.  Jonas recently retired, with 30 years of service, from the Seattle Police Department.  Jonas served as a senior staff for the Seattle Police Department’s Human Resources Director.  In this capacity, Jonas conducted employment investigations, oversaw executive/professional level employment selection processes, provided employment counseling to all levels of management and was the Department representative on numerous citywide committees.  

Growing up as a first generation American, Jonas learned early on of the significant privilege of living and growing up in America and of the importance in giving back to the community through volunteer service.   

Jonas’ commitment to community involvement has been a significant part of Jonas’ adult life.  Jonas has acquired a longstanding record of civic involvement which includes the following:  

Maple Valley City Council: Elected official since 1999 to present

Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services: President and volunteer

Maple Valley Chamber of Commerce:  Member

Maple Valley Days Committee:  Executive Board member and volunteer
